AECOM is seeking a Cost Manager to join their Buildings & Places Infrastructure team in the South East or Anglia region. The role involves delivering comprehensive cost management services across the full project lifecycle for high-profile infrastructure projects in sectors such as water, environment, and power transmission and distribution.
What You'll Do
- Deliver all aspects of cost management from project inception through to completion, working with peers, Directors, clients, and others as required
- Prepare feasibility estimates
- Conduct cost planning and present findings without supervision
- Support contract procurement processes
- Develop tender documentation
- Perform value engineering and maintain commercial awareness
- Generate fees
- Manage risks
- Resolve disputes
- Undertake post-contract management including competent cost reporting
- Agree on final accounts
- Achieve the highest standards of professional competence in all client and professional interactions
- Reinforce the company's profile through professional conduct
- Help drive performance standards and technical excellence
- Communicate effectively using performance management processes and AECOM technical practice networks
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships
- Uphold and increase the firm's profile as a provider of premium quality construction services
- Actively support the internal team and mentor more junior staff
What We're Looking For
- Experience in delivering all aspects of cost management across the full project lifecycle
- Ability to prepare feasibility estimates and cost plans
- Proven ability to present cost plans without supervision
- Experience with contract procurement and tender documentation
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and value engineering skills
- Experience in fee generation
- Risk management experience
- Experience in dispute resolution
- Post-contract management and cost reporting competence
- Ability to agree on final accounts
- High standards of professional competence
- Strong communication skills with clients and professional contacts
- Ability to maintain and develop client relationships
- Experience supporting internal teams and mentoring junior staff
