About the Role

The role involves managing critical aspects of COSP operations, supporting mission integrity, and ensuring alignment across technical and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily COSP system operations and performance monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with established space mission protocols and standards
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system anomalies
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all operational activities
  • Support integration of COSP functions with broader mission systems
  • Respond to operational alerts and initiate corrective actions
  • Participate in mission readiness reviews and operational planning
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams during critical mission phases
  • Verify data integrity and transmission accuracy from satellite systems
  • Assist in developing and updating operational procedures
  • Conduct routine system audits and performance evaluations
  • Provide technical input for system upgrades and enhancements
  • Train team members on COSP protocols and best practices
  • Monitor regulatory requirements affecting operations
  • Escalate technical issues to appropriate engineering resources
  • Support contingency planning for system failures
  • Maintain communication with ground station operators
  • Ensure cybersecurity standards are followed in data handling
  • Track key performance indicators for operational efficiency
  • Contribute to post-mission analysis and reporting

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering or related field
  • Experience with LEO satellite operations
  • Background in mission control operations
  • Certification in project management or systems engineering
  • Direct experience with COSP or similar systems
  • Knowledge of ground station networks
  • Experience in 24/7 operational support roles
  • Familiarity with automated scheduling systems
  • Track record of leading operational improvements
  • Prior work in defense or civil space programs
