What You'll Do
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including payroll, financial reporting, and compliance for a government contractor. Ensure accurate and timely month-end closings and deliver reviewed financial statements to leadership each month. Lead audit preparation and coordination with external auditors and regulatory bodies, maintaining strong readiness for DCAA and other reviews.
Supervise accounting staff, guiding daily workflows, performance development, and training initiatives. Provide technical expertise in resolving complex accounting issues related to GAAP, FASB, and federal acquisition regulations. Conduct in-depth variance analyses, account reconciliations, and ad-hoc financial reviews using advanced Excel and data analysis tools.
Manage client, vendor, and subcontractor setup and invoicing in Unanet, WAWF, and RMS systems. Support internal controls frameworks to safeguard financial integrity, enforce policy compliance, and improve operational accuracy. Assist in formulating direct and indirect cost budgets, monitor cost rate trends, and implement necessary adjustments.
Prepare draft federal and state tax returns and respond to inquiries with support from external CPA firms. Lead incurred cost submission processes when required and conduct 1408 assessments to evaluate accounting system compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Active CPA license required
- At least 10 years of accounting experience with government contracts, including familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and DCAA standards
- Proven experience managing and using Unanet accounting software
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
Technical Stack
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, experience with relational databases, web-based financial platforms, Unanet, WAWF, and RMS.
