About the Role
Design and develop mechanical systems critical to reactor core functionality, ensuring performance, safety, and manufacturability through advanced engineering practices and simulation.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts for reactor core components
- Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools
- Perform structural and thermal analysis to validate designs
- Collaborate with systems engineers to align component specifications
- Support prototyping, testing, and design iteration cycles
- Ensure designs comply with industry codes and safety standards
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues
- Optimize designs for reliability, maintainability, and cost
- Document design rationale, calculations, and test results
- Participate in design reviews and technical audits
- Integrate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders
- Apply DFMEA and other reliability analysis methods
- Manage design changes through formal control processes
- Support licensing and regulatory documentation efforts
- Troubleshoot field or test anomalies related to mechanical systems
- Mentor junior engineers on design best practices
- Stay current with advancements in materials and manufacturing techniques
- Contribute to innovation in modular and scalable system design
- Ensure alignment with long-term product roadmap
- Work under minimal supervision on complex technical challenges
