Responsibilities
- Prepares meals following scheduled menus and ensures adequate serving amounts are available
- Maintains proper food storage conditions and monitors temperatures for both hot and cold items
- Conducts daily inspections of workspaces to maintain organization and cleanliness in storage rooms, refrigeration units, freezers, serving zones, and dining areas
- Handles food in compliance with sanitation standards during receiving, preparation, and storage, including daily verification of temperature logs to meet health code requirements
- Performs daily checks on kitchen equipment to confirm cleanliness and adherence to sanitation protocols
- Reports equipment issues to the Food Service Supervisor and initiates repair or replacement requests as needed
- Supports the supervisor with inventory management, restocking supplies, and placing orders when necessary
- Performs cleaning tasks as required, including dishwashing, floor maintenance, trash removal, and sanitizing tables and service areas
- Completes additional tasks assigned by management
