Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of newly acquired healthcare service businesses, ranging in size from $1M–$100M revenue, into a unified accounting and reporting structure
- Lead the company through its first financial audit in 2026, including readiness, controls, and external auditor management
- Design and implement a unified multi‑entity consolidation and reporting model that can scale from today’s footprint to 2–3x the current number of entities and states, inclusive of inter-company transactions.
- Transition the organization from cash to accrual accounting where appropriate across entities and revenue streams (FFS, capitation, PMPM, grants, etc.)
- Standardize the chart of accounts, entity structure, and dimensionality (e.g., service line, market, payer, provider) to enable clear visibility into unit economics and contribution margins.
- Own the accounting systems architecture across the group (ERP, subledgers, payroll, T&E, banking, and billing/RCM), ensuring clean data flow and a single source of truth for financial reporting.
- Own and reduce the monthly close timeline (currently ~20 days) through process, systems, and team improvements
- Drive the transition to a modern ERP system (e.g., Rillet), including implementation, migration, and integration with billing, capitation, and operational systems
- Build and manage core accounting functions, including AP, payroll, treasury, expense management, and tax, overseeing and developing a team of ~10 while remaining hands-on
- Partner closely with revenue cycle management (RCM) and billing teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, cash reconciliation, and alignment between operational and financial reporting
- Partner with FP&A, operations, and market leaders to ensure financial reporting reflects business reality across entities and geographies
- Ensure compliance with healthcare‑specific regulatory and reporting requirements (e.g., state health departments, payor contracts, risk‑bearing entity reporting) in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
- Oversee tax and regulatory filings at the entity level (in coordination with external advisors), including multi‑state considerations and any risk‑bearing or provider-group requirements.
- Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed accounting team through a period of significant change, raising the bar on technical skills, ownership, and process discipline.
- Build a culture of documentation and continuous improvement, including developing SOPs, checklists, and playbooks for recurring processes (close, reconciliations, A/P, payroll, etc.)

- 10+ years of accounting experience, including experience as a Controller (or equivalent) in a healthcare services organization
- Direct experience in a roll-up or multi-entity environment, ideally integrating acquired businesses into a centralized accounting function
- Deep familiarity with healthcare revenue models, including fee-for-service billing, capitation/PMPM, delegated or global risk arrangements, and other value-based care structures
- Proven track record of improving close timelines, implementing systems, and upgrading accounting infrastructure in a high-growth environment
- Experience implementing modern ERP systems and building scalable accounting processes from the ground up
- Strong technical accounting foundation, with the ability to navigate complexity across entities, states, and revenue streams
- A proactive communicator who builds strong cross-functional relationships—understanding that high-quality accounting requires deep partnership with operations
- Hands-on and detail-oriented, but equally capable of stepping back to design systems that scale
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure in a fast-moving environment
- Own the accounting systems architecture across the group (ERP, subledgers, payroll, T&E, banking, and billing/RCM), ensuring clean data flow and a single source of truth for financial reporting

- Comfort working with modern tools and data environments (e.g., cloud ERP, embedded analytics/BI, workflow tools) and partnering with engineering or data teams to improve data quality
- Deep experience designing or re‑designing chart of accounts and reporting structures for multi‑entity, multi‑state healthcare or services businesses
- Experience navigating healthcare regulatory and payor environments (e.g., delegated risk, MSOs, provider groups, or health plans), and understanding how operational nuances translate into revenue and accruals
