GardaWorld is hiring a Control Room Security Guard

GardaWorld is looking for a Control Room Security Guard to monitor security systems and spot threats before they escalate in environments like security operation centers, call centers, and gatehouses. You will provide clear documentation of incidents and communicate effectively with building occupants and emergency personnel.

What You'll Do

• Monitor security systems, including access control, intrusion alarm, CCTV, audio communication, building automation, environmental and fire, life, alarm and safety systems.
• Manage access control by creating tickets, requesting vendor unlocks, and issuing badges for vendors and visitors.
• Communicate with building occupants during emergencies and coordinate with local police, fire, and emergency personnel.
• Provide clear and concise documentation of all incidents through available logs.
• Perform required patrolling duties throughout your shift.

What We're Looking For

• Authorization to work in Canada.
• A valid Alberta security license.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotational, day and night shifts.
• A minimum of 1 year of dispatch or control room experience.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Advanced computer skills, including experience with data entry, documentation, and creating and editing digital records.
• Advanced telephone skills to engage with callers and handle routine inquiries.
• Strong proficiency with technology.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout your shift.

Nice to Have

• A fundamental knowledge and preferred experience with security technology and systems such as alarm and access control systems, CCTV systems, communication technologies, and general MS software programs.
