Position Overview
Support the closeout of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) contracts by verifying completion, managing documentation, and ensuring adherence to federal standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with foundational experience in federal contracting and procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with CBP staff, auditors, program offices, and contractor representatives to resolve open contract items
- Identify contracts ready for closeout and confirm physical and financial completion
- Collect and validate required documentation, including approvals and final deliverables
- Analyze financial data from SAP, invoices, disbursements, and Undelivered Orders (UDOs) to support de-obligation requests
- Prepare official closeout records such as Business Clearance Memorandums (BCMs), SF30 modifications, and FPDS-NG updates
- Maintain accurate records in databases and tracking systems to reflect current contract status
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in contracting or procurement, preferably within the federal government
- Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DHS-specific acquisition policies
- Experience handling multiple contract types, including Firm-Fixed Price, Cost-Reimbursement, Time and Materials, and Labor Hour agreements
- Background in the 1102 Contract and Procurement Series is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with SAP, FPDS-NG, and standard closeout documentation
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position based in Washington, D.C. Remote work is permitted, but candidates must be available for in-person activities at least two days per week.
