Moog is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer

About the Role

Moog is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to plan, organize, and conduct team-based improvement activities to develop solutions for complex challenges. You'll help build a lean, problem-solving culture by establishing strategic working relationships at all levels.

What You'll Do

  • Optimize manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement Lean principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead and coach cross-functional teams on lean manufacturing principles to develop innovative solutions.
  • Lead value stream mapping and kaizen events to identify bottlenecks in Fabrication, Assembly, and non-manufacturing processes.
  • Promote daily continuous improvement opportunities to foster a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Design lean layouts, creating efficient and optimized floor plans for manufacturing processes.
  • Take initiative to identify and lead key process improvement projects.
  • Use critical thinking & problem-solving tools, such as A3 or other RCCA methodologies, to lead projects impacting strategic objectives.
  • Support cross-functional strategic teams focused on reducing inventory, improving On Time Delivery, and reducing defects.
  • Provide Lean training and coaching on tools such as Waste Reduction, Standard Work, Setup reduction (SMED), Continuous Flow and Pull Systems.
  • Conduct effective kaizen events and project meetings to facilitate collaborative problem-solving.
  • Manage various projects from start to finish and provide updates to the leadership team.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree: preferred disciplines are Industrial / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years or more of working experience in Lean Manufacturing based activities (internship experience acceptable).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing industry.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, A3 Problem Solving, Visual Management, Flow, Kanban, etc.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certified.
  • Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Visio, SharePoint, Power BI, AutoCAD (or similar) is a plus.

This role reports to the Lean Continuous Improvement Manager (Operational Excellence Manager).
