The Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) is hiring a Content Lead to build and lead our content function from the ground up. This senior management role on the Marketing and Communications team is central to growing the reach and influence of effective altruism. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive content strategies, recruiting and managing a new team, and scaling our content ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead the content team, including recruiting, onboarding, and managing content editors, producers, social media specialists, and designers.
- Drive content strategy and execution across major campaigns like Giving Season and EA Funds growth, as well as always-on channels including social media, the website, and newsletters.
- Establish editorial guidelines that maintain intellectual rigor while reaching broader audiences.
- Set success metrics and optimize content based on audience growth, engagement, and impact.
- Partner with CEA program teams on engagement and community building initiatives.
- Coordinate with Media and Marketing leads to align content, earned media, and amplification efforts.
- Investigate and potentially launch new content initiatives, such as a podcast.
- Develop communications strategies for EA Funds growth, targeting donors, grantees, and the community.
- Partner with the Head of Marketing and Communications to plan EA's next breakthrough moment, which could be a book, documentary, or press tour.

- Experience launching owned media programs like podcasts or video series from concept to sustainable operation.
- Experience growing brands through content with a strong point of view on brand strategy and visual identity.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, coordinating across multiple teams, time zones, and organizations.
- Strong editorial instincts and ability to coach others on writing, messaging, and content strategy.
- Comfort with modern content tools, analytics platforms, and distribution channels.

You will join a small, global, remote-first team as part of the Marketing and Communications group, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing and Communications.

Work Mode
This is a fully remote position open to candidates globally, with a preference for those in time zones between US Pacific Time and Central European Time.
