Wiley is looking for a Content Acquisition Specialist – Geodiversity to enhance the geographic reach and content growth of our journals. You'll join a mission-driven team committed to unlocking human potential by expanding who and where research is published.
What You'll Do
- Identify, assess, and support the development of special issues, collections, and other content initiatives with researchers and institutions from key markets.
- Manage a healthy pipeline of ongoing content projects to drive growth and meet geodiversity objectives.
- Track and report on lead conversion, engagement progress, and the performance of acquired content.
- Build and nurture relationships with researchers, editors, institutions, and societies in priority regions.
- Support outreach activities, events, and initiatives to strengthen Wiley’s presence in local research communities.
- Identify and cultivate Guest Editors and authors for special issues, as well as potential candidates for editorial roles.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support regional growth objectives.
- Facilitate two-way sharing of regional insights and feedback between markets and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution of content initiatives.
- Use data and market intelligence to identify high-potential institutions, research communities, and disciplines for content acquisition.
- Support the Manager in monitoring and reporting progress against strategic goals.
- Represent Wiley’s journal portfolio at conferences, workshops, and events to engage with the research community.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with research communities or in STM publishing organizations.
- Excellent networking, relationship-building, persuasion, and influencing skills.
- A detail-oriented, results-driven approach and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Willingness to travel, especially within priority regions.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- A passion for expanding geographic representation in academic publishing and a proactive, adaptable mindset.
Nice to Have
- A higher degree (PhD/MSc) in a relevant field such as Life Science, Environment Science, Earth Science, or a related discipline.

You will work closely with the Manager – Geodiversity, SCA, and the broader team, reporting directly to the Manager.
