UNESCO is looking for a Consultant to undertake a strategic review and develop a new strategy for the UNESCO Institute for Statistics' Observatory for Cultural Statistics programme. This remote role involves analyzing the international cultural statistics landscape to provide actionable recommendations.
What You'll Do
- Produce a comprehensive report with research findings and recommendations for a new UIS Observatory for Cultural Statistics Strategy.
- Review the UIS Medium Term Strategy 2022-2029 and the UIS Culture Statistics Programme from 2001-2024.
- Review current UNESCO Culture Sector Programme priorities and recent Culture Sector statistical activities.
- Review international declarations and documents, such as those from MONDIACULT 2022 and G7/G20 outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth consultations with UNESCO Culture Sector Executive Office and Division Chiefs via online interviews or questionnaires.
- Provide an overview of culture statistics activities in selected international and regional organizations.
- Consult with selected key stakeholders.
- Identify potential partnerships and synergies at international and regional levels.
What We're Looking For
- An advanced university degree (Master, PhD, or equivalent) in quantitative disciplines such as statistics, economics, or social sciences.
- At least 7-10 years of working experience in culture statistics, research, or policy development.
Nice to Have
- An advanced degree preferably in a cultural discipline.
- Direct experience managing or implementing cultural programmes.
