Plantemoran is hiring a Construction Project Management VP to provide senior leadership for large-scale or multiple construction programs. You will guide a diverse client base through complex projects, managing vendors and advising on risk, best practices, and resolution strategies.
What You'll Do
- Provide program leadership working with existing clients.
- Directly oversee multiple vendors and client stakeholders from design through construction.
- Procure vendors and ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and project objectives.
- Advise on program risk, mitigation strategies, and industry best practices.
- Advise on issue resolution aligned with project goals.
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of client management and support staff.
- Attend and participate in meetings with clients, architects, constructors, and professional service firms.
- Prepare and deliver project presentations and regular updates.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- May provide oversight and management of junior staff.
What We're Looking For
- An Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree from an accredited college or university.
- 15-20 years of building, design, and construction experience in project management, construction administration, or field management.
- Construction field experience on large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
- Knowledge of construction best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera scheduling software.
- Familiarity with BIM.
- Must reside in or near the Grand Rapids area or be willing to relocate.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the region, with approximately 15% overnight travel.
Nice to Have
- Experience working for an Owner’s Facility Team or as a consultant.
- Understanding of the design process that drives scope and budget development.
- Construction cost estimating experience.
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or estimating experience.
- Experience with vertical construction, high density, or high profile projects.
