Bob’s Discount Furniture is hiring a Construction Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of our new store and remodel projects in the Northeast and New York Metro region. This remote role is central to our expansion, requiring you to coordinate complex construction phases while maintaining strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure quality and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, including due diligence, permitting, bidding, vendor coordination, on‑site evaluation, and project closeout.
- Collaborate effectively with landlords, contractors, municipalities, utility companies, purchasing teams, designers, and cross‑functional partners.
- Maintain project budgets, evaluate proposals, ensure cost controls, and manage project timelines to achieve successful completion.
- Identify issues early and drive appropriate resolutions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of big box retail construction project management experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry terminology, building codes, standards, permitting processes, and the ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plan sets.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision‑making skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AutoCAD, Smartsheet, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar construction project management software.
- Strong abilities with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
