About the Role
The position involves identifying, analyzing, and resolving potential conflicts of interest in accordance with professional ethics rules and firm policies. The attorney will work closely with lawyers and practice groups to facilitate smooth case intake and client representation.
Responsibilities
- Review new matter and new client intake forms for potential conflicts
- Conduct thorough database searches to identify conflicts of interest
- Prepare detailed conflict summaries for attorney review
- Communicate findings to partners and case teams promptly
- Maintain accurate records of conflict determinations
- Assist with conflict clearance for high-volume matters
- Support onboarding of new clients and engagements
- Collaborate with practice administrators and paralegals
- Ensure compliance with state and federal ethical guidelines
- Escalate complex conflict issues to supervising attorneys
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information
- Track conflict resolution timelines and outcomes
- Update conflict databases with new decisions and rulings
- Assist in developing internal conflict resolution protocols
- Respond to internal requests for conflict verification
- Work across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions
- Manage high volumes of conflict checks efficiently
- Identify patterns in recurring conflict scenarios
- Support firm-wide conflict audits and reporting
- Stay current on legal ethics developments affecting conflicts
