About the Role

The role involves monitoring, evaluating, and improving compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to research and academic activities. The specialist will conduct audits, provide guidance, and support training initiatives to promote a culture of accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate adherence to federal and institutional research regulations
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments for compliance gaps
  • Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs
  • Maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and reporting
  • Collaborate with research offices to interpret policy requirements
  • Monitor changes in regulatory standards and advise on implementation
  • Support investigations into compliance concerns or allegations
  • Prepare reports for internal leadership and oversight bodies
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive research data in line with regulations
  • Work with legal and research teams to address compliance risks
  • Track compliance metrics and performance indicators
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
  • Manage records related to compliance activities
  • Promote awareness of ethical research practices
  • Assist in updating institutional policies to reflect new regulations
  • Coordinate with external auditors during reviews
  • Identify areas for process improvement in compliance workflows
  • Support the implementation of corrective action plans
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research compliance frameworks
  • Facilitate communication between departments on compliance matters
  • Ensure grant-related activities follow regulatory guidelines
  • Review research protocols for regulatory alignment
  • Track compliance training completion across departments
  • Escalate critical findings to senior compliance officers
  • Contribute to annual compliance planning and goal setting
