The Compliance & Operations Lead will oversee compliance and operational processes for Volt.io in Australia, ensuring adherence to AML/CTF and KYB regulations while managing client onboarding and system integration. This hybrid or remote role acts as a bridge between the Australian team and European compliance functions within a fast-growing fintech startup environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the onboarding process for all Australian clients, ensuring strict adherence to Australian AML/CTF and KYB regulations
- Ensure all merchant files meet the required standard of the regulated organization
- Act as the primary conduit between the Australian business and the European Compliance function
- Ensure the local team is up-to-date with global policies
- Advocate for Australian-specific needs at HQ to ensure they are understood and integrated into global workflows
- Manage the approval process for core clients against relevant internal and external standards
- Identify and resolve any compliance 'red flags' before they impact the sales cycle
- Manage and execute customer set-up within Volt’s internal systems
- Ensure all parameters are correctly configured to guarantee a seamless and error-free go-live experience
- Own the administration and version control of critical documents for taking customers live, including boarding forms, site-inspection checklists, and technical hand-off sheets
- Maintain the central repository of sales assets (decks, one-pagers, pricing schedules)
- Ensure all internal documentation is up-to-date, compliant, and reflective of current product capabilities
What We're Looking For
- Initial experience in compliance
- Ability to operate within an AFSL-licensed environment
- Experience in managing regulatory onboarding processes
- Strong understanding of Australian AML/CTF and KYB regulations
- Ability to manage approval processes against internal and external compliance standards
- Experience in system administration and customer onboarding in a technology or fintech environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in document and asset management
- Ability to act as a liaison between local and global teams
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Familiarity with European compliance frameworks
- Experience working in cross-border fintech operations
