CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Complex Litigation Specialist to manage and resolve high-risk, high-impact litigation and coverage matters. In this remote role, you will provide direction on complex commercial auto, fleet, and trucking claims while monitoring legal trends and serving as a company-wide subject matter expert.
What You'll Do
- Review, analyze, and resolve complex litigated and non-litigated coverage and extra-contractual claim matters.
- Provide direction and advice to Claims personnel on complex and large coverage issues.
- Present cases in committee settings when seeking above settlement authority.
- Act as a department liaison and Subject Matter Expert for special project efforts.
- Monitor and report on trends and case law changes related to coverage and state laws.
- Develop and deliver product and coverage training to other departments and regions.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of Claims experience, including 5+ years handling complex casualty claims.
- Proficient knowledge of all insurance products and claim handling procedures across all states.
- Knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to make high-risk, high-impact decisions and be accountable for results.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret complex policy language, statutory requirements, and legal analyses.
Nice to Have
- 5+ years handling complex commercial auto coverage and extra-contractual claims.
- Proficient knowledge of commercial (including TNC and GIG economy) and personal lines products.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, including attorneys and mediators.
- A minimum of 3 years of Litigation experience.
- CPCU or AINS designations.
- Demonstrated respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from varied backgrounds.
- Active participation in shaping company culture through activities like employee resource groups or volunteering.
- Willingness to travel as needed for divisional or team meetings.
