The Part Time Head Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for guiding the overall direction of the men's soccer program at Penn State Scranton. Reporting to the Athletic Director, this position oversees all facets of the team, from training and competition planning to recruitment and personal development of student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of the men's soccer program, including scheduling, practices, and game preparation
- Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes committed to academic and athletic excellence
- Support players in achieving personal, academic, and athletic growth
- Ensure full compliance with PSUAC, USCAA, and NCAA Division III regulations
- Organize team activities and events in alignment with departmental oversight
- Operate a motor vehicle for team-related duties and maintain a clean driving record
- Complete all required background and motor vehicle checks as mandated
Qualifications
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license with successful motor vehicle records clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
- Demonstrated understanding of NCAA Division III, PSUAC, and USCAA rules and regulations
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based at Penn State Scranton. The role requires a variable weekly commitment of 15 to 30 hours, with fluctuations based on competition and recruiting cycles.
