Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is looking for a Community Mental Health Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team in the greater Hamilton community. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting tāngata whaiora and whānau while actively embracing and supporting the transformation to a Māori led service within the Mental Health and Addictions Service.
What You'll Do
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical roles) in the greater Hamilton community.
- Embrace and support the implementation of a Māori led service within the team and the wider service.
- Work with leadership to support and lead a well-functioning mental health and addictions community team.
- Be committed to understanding the needs of the communities and building networks within them.
- Exercise sound decision making skills, especially in high pressure situations.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant graduate qualification and registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
- Experience with community networking and managing inter-sectoral relationships and partnerships.
- A passion for making a difference to the lives of tāngata whaiora and whānau.
- Initiative and resourcefulness to navigate a variety of challenges.
- Creativity, reliability and exceptional organisational skills.

This is an onsite position based at Te Kuuwaha o te Waiora, 135C Silverdale Road, Hillcrest, Hamilton.
