About the Role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Oral Health Promoter to join the Community Oral Health team in Taupō. You will be at the forefront of advocating for and promoting oral health and wellbeing, making a positive impact on the health of tamariki (children) and the wider community.

What You'll Do

  • Advocate and promote health and wellbeing with a focus on oral health.
  • Lead, develop, and conduct educational workshops for different age groups.
  • Work directly with whānau and community groups to improve oral health outcomes for children.
  • Participate in community events to promote oral health education and raise awareness.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of oral health promotion programs and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a dynamic, supportive team environment.

  • Experience working effectively with diverse groups of all ages and backgrounds.
  • A flexible, organised, and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively with whānau to improve oral health.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience building positive relationships with community groups.
  • A genuine passion for health and wellbeing.
  • Willingness to learn and incorporate Māori language.
  • A full driver's license.

This is a local, community-based role located in Taupō.
