The Community Engagement Specialist helps bridge the gap between technical project teams and the public by designing and implementing thoughtful engagement strategies. This role is central to developing outreach materials, managing stakeholder input, and organizing both in-person and digital events such as public meetings, workshops, and pop-up activities. The specialist ensures that community voices are heard and integrated into project planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content for project websites, newsletters, social media, and printed outreach materials
  • Plan and coordinate community events, including scheduling, logistics, and follow-up
  • Maintain stakeholder databases and manage systems for tracking public comments and engagement records
  • Support the development of surveys, interactive mapping tools, and online engagement platforms
  • Translate engineering and planning concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences
  • Produce summaries, reports, and presentations that document engagement efforts and outcomes
  • Contribute to proposal writing, marketing content, and corporate communications initiatives
  • Draft and edit internal announcements, leadership updates, and strategic messaging aligned with organizational goals
  • Occasionally work evenings or weekends to accommodate community meetings and client needs
  • Travel as needed to attend events, meetings, and regional office locations

Qualifications

Candidates must be available for evening and weekend commitments when necessary and willing to travel to various locations. A minimum of three days per week is required on-site at the Greenwood Village (Denver) office, with potential for more flexible arrangements after the first 90 days, depending on performance and team requirements.
