As a Community Engagement Manager, you will report to the Senior Community Engagement Manager. Your role will involve spearheading outreach initiatives to communicate the advantages of Velsera platforms to diverse research communities, including genomics scientists, bioinformatics tool developers, clinicians, and course instructors. You will lead training programs to educate researchers on maximizing platform utilization and ensuring user success. Additionally, you will contribute to internal engagement efforts by providing insights, tracking progress, and influencing content development strategies. Fundamentally, Seven Bridges Community Engagement Managers are powerful, empathetic communicators and educators who excel at engaging researchers and tool developers. You will develop user outreach strategies and provide advanced one-on-one support when necessary. Your primary objective will be continuously gathering user feedback to ensure Velsera platforms evolve in a user-centric manner. What will you do? Educate the research community: - Generate instructional content for researchers, including written and video tutorials for platforms like the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Genomics Cloud and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's BioData Catalyst - Design and conduct training sessions for user groups ranging from 5 to 100 participants - Showcase Velsera platforms' value at conferences, workshops, and consortia meetings Grow the number of researchers using Velsera platforms: - Strategically connect with target communities and demonstrate platform research enablement - Interact with platform users, comprehend their research objectives, and facilitate successful study execution - Deeply analyze user requirements and integrate feedback into the Velsera product roadmap Work independently, take ownership, and ensure milestone delivery. Requirements: What do you bring to the table? Required: - Exceptional communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders - Experience conducting genomics experiments or analyzing omics data - Passion for teaching and simplifying complex technical concepts Nice to have: - Basic UNIX command line proficiency - Programming skills in R and/or Python - Experience processing large-scale -omics data on cloud/high-performance computing platforms Education and experience: - PhD or MS in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, engineering, or related field - Preferred experience leading workshops, user groups, or large user-engagement events Our core values: People first.
