Lead the technical startup of renewable energy projects as a Commissioning Engineer, ensuring systems are safely and efficiently brought online. You will coordinate commissioning activities across multiple sites, working closely with engineering, construction, and grid teams to deliver reliable, high-performing power plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee commissioning schedules, aligning field execution with project timelines and technical requirements.
- Conduct and supervise electrical tests including insulation resistance, earth continuity, VLF cable testing, and MV energization procedures.
- Commission inverters and medium-voltage infrastructure, performing switching operations and system checks to ensure grid compatibility.
- Analyze test data and commissioning reports, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions before handover.
- Review documentation from suppliers and subcontractors, verifying alignment with internal quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering to refine system designs based on field performance and commissioning feedback.
- Ensure all procedures follow applicable regulations and contribute to shaping internal commissioning protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests, checklists, and commissioning milestones in line with the project’s Quality Plan.
- Act as the central point of contact between technical teams, supporting seamless communication from construction to operation.
- Report progress and technical outcomes directly to the Commissioning Team Leader.
What You Bring
- Formal training or degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in power plant commissioning, with hands-on involvement in electrical testing and system startup.
- Proven ability to interpret electrical schematics and manage complex test sequences.
- Strong knowledge of protection relays, SCADA integration, and commissioning standards for PV and battery storage systems; familiarity with wind is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Fluent business English; additional languages are beneficial.
- Willingness to travel regularly across European project sites.
