About the Role

TEGNA Inc. is looking for a Commercial Producer to lead and manage the production of commercial content for a range of clients. You will guide projects from concept through completion, working closely with clients to understand their vision and coordinating teams to deliver high-quality productions.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the commercial production process.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and provide creative direction to align the final product with their objectives.
  • Plan, set up, and execute video shoots for commercials and branded content.
  • Operate professional cameras, lighting, and other production equipment.
  • Develop creative concepts, storyboards, scripts, and production strategies.
  • Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, freelancers, and contractors for project execution.
  • Shoot all aspects of video production, from pre-production through final delivery.
  • Monitor shoots, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards.
  • Edit all aspects of video and oversee post-production processes like audio, color grading, and special effects.
  • Prepare and manage production budgets, including cost estimations and vendor negotiations.
  • Provide input on creative elements like visuals and graphics to achieve a high-impact final product.
  • Facilitate client reviews and make revisions based on feedback.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain, transport, and set up production equipment, performing regular maintenance checks.
  • Stay updated on new gear, tools, and technology to enhance production quality.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial production, video production, or related roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful commercial productions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in video production tools and software.
  • Exceptional communication and client relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and an eye for innovative content.
  • Current driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with clients from various industries, such as retail, home services, healthcare, or legal.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media video production.
  • Experience in scripting, directing, shooting, and editing.
