Ingram Content Group is hiring a Collection Development Librarian II (Bilingual/Spanish) to join our Collection and Metadata Development team. In this role, you will focus on surfacing authentic Spanish titles worldwide and developing Spanish-language collection development services for libraries. You will play a key part in growing proprietary databases, creating balanced title lists, and representing Ingram to publishers and library customers.
What You'll Do
- Enhance and maintain an intricate Collection Development title database used to create customized lists for services like ongoing collection development, outsourced projects, iCurate, Opening Day Collections, and Standing Orders.
- Lead custom collection development projects and services for libraries as needed.
- Work with management to develop and enhance iCurate services for Spanish-language collection development, utilizing your knowledge of library needs and Spanish publishing.
- Guide library customers on weeding, collection development norms, budget allocations, and best practices for building Spanish-language collections for all ages.
- Educate customer librarians about Ingram tools, services, and capabilities, with a focus on Spanish-language materials.
- Represent Ingram to customers and industry professionals at conferences.
- Meet with publishers to stay current on new titles; use professional knowledge of reviews and trade news to advise on target audiences and product viability.
- Write articles in English and Spanish for newsletters, blogs, and industry publications to inform customers about titles and trends.
- Plan, research, write, and execute webinars and podcasts to demonstrate Ingram Library Services expertise.
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS, MLIS, MSLS or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited school.
- 3+ years of experience in public, school, and/or academic libraries.
- 1+ year of collection development experience.
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish.
Nice to Have
- Experience with querying and data reporting.
- Knowledge of integrated library catalog systems such as SirsiDynix, Polaris, Sierra, or ExLibris.
- Knowledge of RDA and AACR2 cataloging standards, LCSH, LC and Dewey classification schedules, and MARC21/OCLC formats.
