Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) is seeking a Coffee Sourcing Manager for its subsidiary, Ibero Uganda Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational procurement of green coffee within Uganda, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the Head of Procurement to develop and implement seasonal coffee buying strategies aligned with market trends, crop forecasts, and company goals.
- Ensure timely procurement of FAQ coffee in required volumes, maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers, cooperatives, and buying stations, monitoring performance and compliance.
- Lead the process of purchase price setting based on market dynamics, crop estimates, and competitor activity.
- Drive data collection and analysis on crop yields and regional performance to inform procurement decisions.
- Coordinate with logistics teams and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely delivery of procured coffee.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in English and local languages.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in coffee sourcing, with strong knowledge of both Robusta and Arabica varieties.
- Demonstrated ability to work in remote and rural environments; mobile and flexible for field-based operations.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build trust and rapport with suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with experience in crop forecasting, market analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability in managing procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- High resilience, reliability, and ability to manage deadlines.
- Effective teamwork and proactiveness.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with procurement systems and basic financial principles.
