Colac Area Health is hiring a Coach Safety Specialist to join the NSW Trains Safety Performance team. In this role, you will support the Senior Manager Safety Performance and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver coach-related safety assurance activities. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a fit-for-purpose safety assurance framework for coach operations, ensuring compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law and relevant regulations.
What You'll Do
- Support the Senior Manager Safety Performance and collaborate with NSW Trains stakeholders in delivering coach-related safety assurance activities.
- Design and implement a fit-for-purpose safety assurance framework for coach operations, embedding coach-specific requirements into SEMS.
- Develop and trial a coach safety assurance program across NSW Trains locations.
- Test developed assurance activities, identify issues, analyse data, and produce clear, evidence-based reports for Executive and governance forums.
- Manage audit scopes, schedules, and reporting obligations.
- Upskill NSW Trains staff, ensure findings are tracked, risks are addressed, and stakeholders receive accurate, timely insights.
What We're Looking For
- An experienced Safety or Audit professional with a strong background in safety governance and assurance frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of safety management systems, risk-based auditing, and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical and solutions-focused with strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to effectively engage stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver clear, high-quality reports within tight timeframes.

- A background ideally within a heavy vehicle regulated environment.
