Skanska is hiring a Planning Manager to lead the planning function and team on a project or across multi-projects within our Building Operating Unit. This role will focus on major healthcare projects for the New Hospital Programme (NHP), where you will manage the overall planning process, construct complex programmes, and make strategic planning decisions.
What You'll Do
- Manage the overall planning function and process, maintaining a proactive and professional service to the planning, bid and project teams.
- Construct complex programmes from 1st principles using drawings, models or processes and produce supporting methodologies.
- Establish the short-term planning approach for the project, defining roles and responsibilities.
- Verify that constraints have been included within the programme and develop strategies for working with them.
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor activities of planners across a large project, ensuring resources are used efficiently and safely.
- Make strategic planning decisions (resources, logistics, etc) across the project.
- Develop the strategy for the delivery of a framework / group of projects and work with Commercial/Estimating teams.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience of delivering the planning function on major construction projects – specifically healthcare or other complex buildings - working through bid, PCSA and delivery stages.
- Demonstrable experience of different forms of contract including NEC, JCT, MPTC etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of Planning Software (Primavera and/or Asta Powerproject).
- HNC/Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a construction related subject or trade qualifications.
- Significant construction site experience, complemented by knowledge of the design process, construction methodologies and temporary works requirements/constraints.
