Mass General Brigham is seeking a Clinical Social Worker II to join the Adult Inpatient Community Integration Unit, part of the Division of Bipolar and Psychotic Disorders. In this role, you will serve patients with persistent mental health and substance abuse issues who are facing complex psychosocial stressors. You will be responsible for a caseload, group therapy, aftercare coordination, and providing clinical supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform psychosocial assessments and interventions for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients.
- Carry a caseload of 5-6 patients.
- Run one group per week and facilitate skill-based groups.
- Collaborate with family, social, and outpatient supports and arrange aftercare.
- Supervise a second-year social work intern and oversee 3 junior social workers in an emerging clinical leadership role.
- Formulate biopsychosocial assessments, dispositions, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate patients' medical/physical condition and assess needs.
- Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals.
- Advocate, coordinate, and communicate treatment plans with patients, family, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Engage in quality improvement projects and use data to measure progress.
What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree in Mental Health & Behavioral Medicine OR Master's Degree in Social Work.
- 2-3 years of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Proficient clinical judgment and application of professional values and ethics.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and timely documentation.
- Sound clinical judgment and innovation in advocating for clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Proficient working knowledge of internal and external resources and appropriate referral.
- Ability to provide a range of evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to incorporate social sensitivity.
- Ability to utilize supervision and consultation regularly and appropriately.
- Ability to actively seek assistance with complex cases and situations in a timely manner.
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to negotiate and work in a complex organization.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate findings with a broader audience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Annual salary range: $69,596.80 - $101,202.40
