What You'll Do
Provide professional nursing services to clinical research participants in their homes, ensuring care aligns with established study protocols. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, monitor for adverse reactions, and report critical findings to the Principal Investigator. Administer investigational treatments as directed and perform required medical procedures such as vital sign monitoring, ECGs, and specimen collection.
Prepare and ship lab samples according to protocol guidelines, maintaining chain-of-custody standards. Educate patients on medication use, disease management, and study expectations to support adherence and understanding. Use mobile technology to document care and maintain accurate, real-time records during visits.
Requirements
- Active nursing license with completion of an accredited BSN, associate, or diploma program
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience post-licensure
- Current BLS certification
- ICH-GCP certification or willingness to obtain it
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Ability to travel locally within Chicago for home visits
- Proficiency with mobile devices and Microsoft software applications
- Flexible availability to accommodate varying study schedules
- Training in hazardous materials handling or willingness to complete training
