About the Role

Handle the intake and review of incoming mail, emails, and faxes, identifying necessary actions to properly file and track documentation. Process new provider applications by scanning documents, creating files, and conducting initial verifications across key databases including OIG, SAM, NPI, state licensing boards, DEA, NurSys, and hospital credentialing portals.

What You'll Do

Support the credentialing lifecycle by maintaining accurate provider records in the credentialing database. Perform data entry, upload documents, and generate reports as needed. Organize electronic folders with consistent naming conventions and ensure all files are correctly stored and easily retrievable. Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, and required documentation such as CMEs, DEA registrations, liability insurance, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and immunization records. Proactively contact providers and their offices to obtain updated materials before lapses occur.

Update provider profiles on external systems including CAQH, NPI registry, and state Department of Health sites. Assist with internal projects, process improvements, and onboarding of new team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance. Maintain vigilance in tracking tasks and verifying accuracy across all stages of the credentialing workflow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1–2 years of direct experience in provider credentialing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple provider files simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent accuracy in documentation handling
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in time management and independent task prioritization
  • Ability to interpret and act on complex regulatory requirements
  • Experience with verification systems such as OIG, SAM, DEA, and hospital portals
