The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to provide comprehensive support for all aspects of clinical studies. This role manages Institutional Review Board applications, modifications, and reports while coordinating research activities and providing protocol-driven support to the team.
What You'll Do
- Serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol.
- Support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
- Conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, including collecting and recording data, recruiting participants, scheduling visits, and coordinating lab and fieldwork.
- Develop and maintain adherence to research protocols and standard operating procedures, verifying the accuracy of research data.
- Maintain excellent communication with sponsors, monitors, health care providers, and outside agencies regarding ongoing activities.
- Recruit, screen, and approach potential subjects to determine eligibility according to established criteria.
- Schedule, conduct, and document research study visits using case report forms according to institutional and sponsor guidelines.
- Coordinate meetings with study staff, collaborators, stakeholders, and community partners.
- Determine study costs, build budgets for new studies, and comply with institutional-specific billing regulations.
- Plan and implement the clinical protocol's goals and objectives in conjunction with investigators.
- Compile, edit, and proof written reports for internal and external administrative offices.
- Provide data for the creation of study budgets as needed.
- Support data management, including quality control processes, data analysis support for principal investigators, and abstract, manuscript, and grant writing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Three (3) years of related experience.
- Work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $50,050 - $81,330
