Kansas Health System is hiring a Clinical Research Analyst II (remote)

Responsibilities

  • Implements and supports software applications, working directly with end users to resolve issues and assist in software rollouts and system conversions.
  • Applies clinical operations knowledge to assess and recommend effective solutions, ensuring high-quality, efficient tools for end users while maintaining and supporting designated software systems and showing leadership in all tasks.
  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks, communicates project progress and challenges to managers, and delivers work that aligns with project scope and departmental standards for application configuration.
  • Supports workflow analysis by gathering data through interviews and assessing regulatory, operational, and policy requirements for current and future system needs.
  • Participates in the planning, development, deployment, maintenance, support, and evaluation of assigned clinical or business application systems.
  • Engages in system design, documents design choices, redesigns workflows, collects data, builds databases, and performs testing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with nursing and clinical staff across departments.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in clinical areas to design and deploy new clinical information systems.
  • Contributes to and presents in team and project meetings, works closely with colleagues, and identifies opportunities requiring cross-functional collaboration.
  • Works independently or in teams efficiently with minimal oversight and can guide others under light supervision.
  • Under general direction, designs, documents, builds, and modifies complex, mission-critical applications to meet organizational needs, using tools such as workflow diagrams, project timelines, Gantt charts, and resource planning.
  • Independently identifies optimization opportunities based on feedback from end users.
  • Collaborates with other analysts to ensure seamless integration across clinical and business systems, supporting a unified patient-centered care model.
  • Applies knowledge of healthcare settings, clinical roles, and care workflows to improve process design and ensure consistent experiences for patients and providers.
  • Develops deep expertise in one or more applications or technical domains, understands system impacts on clinical departments, and maintains certifications and proficiencies.
  • Stays current with healthcare trends, nursing practices, health informatics, regulatory standards, institutional policies, and legal aspects of clinical systems.
  • Mentors new analysts and consistently demonstrates strong customer service abilities.
  • Leads small-scale projects using formal project management methods to define scope, timelines, and deliverables, using tools like Eclipse and SharePoint for tracking.
  • Ensures project deliverables meet departmental standards, including thorough documentation and regular reporting to leadership.
  • Supports other analysts in troubleshooting, testing, and resolving system and user-reported issues.
  • Takes part in project coordination, meetings, and presentations; prepares agendas and collaborates with vendors on software and design matters.
  • Prepares and delivers handover documentation and presentations when transitioning projects to support teams.
  • Responds to after-hours support requests as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Understands various testing methodologies and objectives, creates and runs test scripts based on future workflows and system updates.
  • Maintains and updates test scripts as workflows evolve, tracks testing status and issues, and leads efforts to resolve defects.
