Kansas Health System is hiring a Clinical Research Analyst II (remote)

About the Role

Kansas Health System is looking for a Clinical Research Analyst II to join our team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of clinical applications, working closely with end users to troubleshoot problems and assist with software implementations. You will apply your healthcare clinical operations expertise to research and evaluate solutions, ensuring our clinical staff have high-quality, efficient tools.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver assigned tasks, report project progress to the project manager, and adhere to departmental configuration guidelines.
  • Assist in analyzing and documenting current and future clinical needs and workflows through interviews and data gathering.
  • Support the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of assigned clinical or business application systems.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Nursing and Clinical communities.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders in assigned clinical areas to design and implement new clinical systems.
  • Participate in team and project meetings, working closely with team members.
  • Work effectively and independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Design, document, build, and modify complex critical applications under general supervision.
  • Research opportunities for optimizations based on end-user feedback.
  • Work closely with other analysts to ensure integration between clinical and business applications.
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare settings, roles, and workflows to all analysis and design work.
  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge in your assigned application or technical area.
  • Maintain all required certifications and proficiencies.
  • Stay current on trends and issues in healthcare, nursing practice, Healthcare Informatics, and relevant regulations.
  • Develop competence in mentoring new analysts.
  • Lead small projects using project management methodologies and departmental tools.
  • Assist other Application Analysts in end-user and system support, including investigation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and participate in project activities, meetings, and presentations.
  • Contribute to turnover documentation and presentations upon project completion.
  • Respond to off-duty calls as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Understand testing concepts; develop and execute test scripts; document testing status and lead troubleshooting efforts.
  • Participate in and coach others on testing planning.
  • Review future-state workflow documentation for training curriculum development; may serve as a proctor during training.
  • Participate in developing communications for optimizations by producing screenshots and clear explanations.
  • Perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

What We're Looking For

  • An Associates Degree in Nursing or another clinical healthcare-related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a clinical position (Nursing or Ancillary) within a healthcare institution or clinic.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Clinical Analyst working with information systems.
  • A current professional license or clinical certificate in your professional area.
  • Certification or proficiency in the assigned Epic application (or demonstrated learning of another assigned application), which must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelors Degree in Nursing or another clinical healthcare-related field.
  • A national certification such as CPHIMS from HIMSS.
  • Certification in at least one Epic application.
