About the Role
The role involves leading client onboarding due diligence activities, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to anti-money laundering regulations and Know Your Customer requirements across global jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate client onboarding files for completeness and accuracy
- Perform enhanced due diligence on high-risk clients
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with relationship managers to gather necessary documentation
- Assess client risk profiles based on jurisdiction, source of wealth, and business activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML and KYC regulatory changes
- Support audits and regulatory inspections
- Escalate suspicious activities to the compliance officer
- Review beneficial ownership structures for corporate clients
- Coordinate with offshore teams for cross-border client cases
- Provide guidance on complex client structures
- Ensure timely onboarding while maintaining control standards
- Maintain accurate records in compliance systems
- Respond to internal and external queries on due diligence status
- Assist in process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Train junior staff on due diligence procedures
- Monitor onboarding turnaround times
- Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions
- Support implementation of new regulatory requirements
- Work with legal and privacy teams on data handling issues
