Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation to analyze claims on behalf of our valued clients. You will determine benefits due and ensure ongoing adjudication aligns with service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client requirements.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to achieve timely resolution.
- Investigate and gather information to determine claim exposure.
- Report claims to excess carriers and respond professionally to direction requests.
- Manage claim recoveries as applicable.
- Negotiate settlement of claims within your designated authority.
- Refer cases appropriately to supervisor and management.
- Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves to claims.
- Ensure claim files are properly documented and coding is correct.
- Communicate claim activity and processing with claimants and clients.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensing and jurisdiction knowledge in: IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NE, WI.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional certification relevant to the Workers Compensation line of business.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000.
