As a Civil Structural Engineer, you'll play a key role in advancing sustainable energy infrastructure worldwide. Your work will focus on the design and analysis of critical foundation systems for wind turbines and solar installations, including both gravity-based and rock-anchored solutions. You'll apply first-principles engineering alongside finite element analysis (FEA) tools to develop safe, efficient, and technically sound designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and verify foundations for wind and solar energy structures using analytical methods and FEA software
- Review engineering outputs from internal and third-party teams for technical accuracy and compliance
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards, including CSA, ACI, and Eurocode, depending on regional project requirements
- Collaborate with geotechnical, survey, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to support informed design decisions
- Support project teams with practical engineering guidance affecting safety, cost, quality, and schedule
- Identify potential risks early in project development and contribute technical insight to mitigate them
- Drive continuous improvement by refining design processes and promoting best practices across projects
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor's Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in wind turbine or solar pile foundation design, familiarity with multiple structural codes (such as ACI, CSA, or Eurocodes), and knowledge of FEA applications. Awareness of UK CDM 2015 or Irish Construction Regulations 2013 is beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate a growing understanding of renewable energy systems and be eligible to pursue Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
