Responsibilities
- Develop civil design plans for roadway and highway systems
- Perform geometric design and alignment for transportation corridors
- Conduct drainage and stormwater management design
- Prepare construction documentation and technical specifications
- Support project development through all design phases
- Collaborate with survey and field teams for data collection
- Review designs for compliance with regulatory standards
- Utilize civil design software for modeling and analysis
- Coordinate with environmental and utility consultants
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets
- Participate in client and agency coordination meetings
- Conduct field inspections and construction observation
- Address design changes and respond to construction issues
- Ensure designs meet safety and accessibility standards
- Integrate sustainable design practices into projects
- Support project scheduling and milestone tracking
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Perform calculations for earthwork and grading
- Prepare plans for intersection and interchange improvements
- Apply industry standards from AASHTO, MUTCD, and local agencies
- Work with traffic engineering teams on capacity studies
- Develop plans for pavement marking and signage
- Contribute to environmental documentation and permitting
- Use GIS tools for spatial analysis and mapping
