About the Role
The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of water infrastructure, including stormwater, wastewater, and water supply systems.
Responsibilities
- Design water and wastewater systems using engineering standards
- Conduct feasibility studies for water resource projects
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
- Review construction plans for compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with environmental scientists and planners
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
- Inspect field work to ensure quality and safety
- Coordinate with public agencies and stakeholders
- Support permitting and regulatory approval processes
- Develop construction specifications and cost estimates
- Lead design reviews and technical meetings
- Apply sustainable engineering practices
- Troubleshoot design and construction issues
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards
- Use CAD and GIS software for design and analysis
- Supervise junior engineering staff
- Evaluate existing infrastructure for upgrades
- Support emergency response for water system failures
- Integrate climate resilience into project designs
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
