About the Role

The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of water infrastructure, including stormwater, wastewater, and water supply systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater systems using engineering standards
  • Conduct feasibility studies for water resource projects
  • Prepare technical reports and project documentation
  • Review construction plans for compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and planners
  • Manage project budgets and timelines
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
  • Inspect field work to ensure quality and safety
  • Coordinate with public agencies and stakeholders
  • Support permitting and regulatory approval processes
  • Develop construction specifications and cost estimates
  • Lead design reviews and technical meetings
  • Apply sustainable engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot design and construction issues
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards
  • Use CAD and GIS software for design and analysis
  • Supervise junior engineering staff
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure for upgrades
  • Support emergency response for water system failures
  • Integrate climate resilience into project designs

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Experience with large-scale water infrastructure
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in design-build delivery
  • Knowledge of green infrastructure
  • Experience with federal funding requirements
  • Leadership in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in flood risk assessment
  • Familiarity with NEPA documentation
  • Proficiency in HEC-HMS or SWMM
