Translate comics that reach millions — we’re seeking experienced translators to convert licensed Manga, Manhua, and Manhwa from Chinese, Japanese, or Korean into fluent, accurate English. Your work will directly shape how stories are experienced by readers around the world.
What You’ll Do
- Translate official comic content with attention to tone, pacing, and cultural nuance.
- Use a specialized localization platform to adapt text so it fits cleanly within speech bubbles and captions.
- Collaborate with proofreaders and quality reviewers to refine translations and maintain consistency.
- Meet deadlines for urgent projects when needed, contributing to a steady release schedule.
What We’re Looking For
- Near-native or native proficiency in English and one of the following: Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
- Strong command of grammar, syntax, and narrative style in both source and target languages.
- Comfort with digital tools — you’ll use custom software to streamline translation workflows.
- Reliability, organization, and a sharp eye for detail.
- A genuine interest in comics and a passion for storytelling across cultures.
- Availability for at least three months, including time for urgent assignments.
Nice to Have
- Native-level fluency in the source language.
- Familiarity with North American or British cultural references to support context-aware translation.
- Experience with mature themes, including BL/GL content, and comfort working with diverse narratives.
