Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH). This key executive leader provides day-to-day operational oversight to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while driving operational excellence, clinical integration, and financial performance. The role is central to advancing the hospital's mission within a system dedicated to improving health and quality of life.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for hospital operations, including clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Support complex care delivery models across pediatric specialty services including organ transplant, trauma, emergency, and surgical services.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans supporting the hospital's mission, vision, and long-term growth.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including physicians, department leaders, employees, patients, and community leaders.
- Manage large-scale operating and capital budgets with fiscal responsibility and strategic prioritization.
- Drive operational efficiency, effectiveness, and performance to ensure high-quality care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient and employee experience.
- Represent the hospital in external and community forums, industry conferences, and professional associations.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and demographic shifts to identify opportunities for service expansion and differentiation.
- Translate organizational vision into actionable operating plans aligned with long-term strategy.
- Partner with physician and clinical leaders to enhance service line performance, clinical outcomes, and innovation.
- Plan, execute, and operationalize facility master planning activities with facilities, construction teams, clinical leaders, and external vendors.
- Partner with finance and HR to ensure sound financial management, labor optimization, and workforce planning.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Ability to obtain an AHCA Background Screening from the State of Florida.
- Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Screen from the Florida Department of Children & Family (DCF).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive hospital operations leadership experience.
- At least 5 years as a COO or equivalent role in a large acute care hospital.
- Proven success in managing high-acuity service lines such as cardiac transplant programs, surgical services, trauma, and emergency services.
