Centene Management Company LLC is hiring a Chief Medical Officer to provide medical oversight and leadership for our Texas health plans. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of cost-effective, quality healthcare services to members. You will serve as the primary clinical advisor and leader for our medical management teams.
What You'll Do
- Serve as clinical advisor and educator to medical management staff to ensure sound clinical judgment in all medical management determinations.
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and interpretation of medical review and quality-related policies.
- Provide oversight and direction for staff and provider training and education initiatives.
- Promote positive relations with the local medical community, including periodic consultation with providers.
- Review case management data to identify trends and gaps in care and recommend corrective actions.
- Review all quality of care issues and oversee the development of processes for improvement.
- Monitor performance indicators to ensure the delivery of cost-effective care within quality standards.
- Monitor member and provider satisfaction and recommend changes to improve satisfaction levels.
- Work collaboratively to develop corporate clinical care standards and medical practice policies.
- Provide medical guidance to the Medical Management department.
What We're Looking For
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- 7+ years of clinical experience in the practice of medicine.
- Board certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists.
- Current Texas state license as an MD or DO without restrictions, limitations, or sanctions from government programs.
- For Superior HealthPlan: Must reside in Texas.
Nice to Have
- Management experience.
- Utilization Management experience and knowledge of quality accreditation standards.
- Actively practices medicine and provides leadership in the local medical community.
- Course work in Health Administration, Health Financing, Insurance, and/or Personnel Management.
- Experience treating or managing care for a culturally diverse population.
- Certification in a primary care specialty.

- Compensation: $271,000.00 - $515,500.00 per year.
