The Trevor Project is hiring a Chief Advancement Officer to provide strategic leadership for all fundraising and development activities. This is a critical executive role responsible for securing the philanthropic resources essential for our mission of providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year advancement strategy to significantly increase philanthropic revenue.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing advancement team.
- Cultivate and secure major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders to align fundraising with organizational priorities.
- Oversee all fundraising channels, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and special events.
- Establish key performance indicators and reporting systems to track progress against ambitious revenue goals.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
- Proven track record of personally securing and managing seven- and eight-figure major gifts.
- Experience building and leading successful advancement or development teams in a complex organization.
- Deep understanding of best practices in major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presentation skills.
- Passion for and commitment to The Trevor Project’s mission of supporting LGBTQ youth.
