The Trevor Project was looking for a Chief Advancement Officer

The Trevor Project is hiring a Chief Advancement Officer to provide strategic leadership for all fundraising and development activities. This is a critical executive role responsible for securing the philanthropic resources essential for our mission of providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year advancement strategy to significantly increase philanthropic revenue.
  • Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing advancement team.
  • Cultivate and secure major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders to align fundraising with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee all fundraising channels, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and special events.
  • Establish key performance indicators and reporting systems to track progress against ambitious revenue goals.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
  • Proven track record of personally securing and managing seven- and eight-figure major gifts.
  • Experience building and leading successful advancement or development teams in a complex organization.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presentation skills.
  • Passion for and commitment to The Trevor Project’s mission of supporting LGBTQ youth.

Work Mode

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located within the United States.
