Saputo Dairy UK (SDUK) is hiring a Cheese Packer for a 3-month Fixed Term Contract at our Davidstow site. You will be central to the packing process, operating equipment and supporting product quality before maturation. This role works a 3 on, 3 off shift pattern, covering both days (7am-7pm) and nights.
What You'll Do
- Operate cheese packing equipment following standard procedures and production instructions.
- Be hands-on to address downtime or breakdowns on the line.
- Maintain cheese quality by manually handling 20kg blocks and manually boxing up to 50 tonnes at a rate of 10 tonnes per hour.
- Undertake process monitoring, keep accurate records, and take corrective action to maintain line efficiency and packaging quality.
- Carry out hygiene and housekeeping tasks in line with food safety requirements.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve working methods.
- Utilize computers to operate machinery, track data, and analyze product.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in a food production environment, following recipes, or a passion for food products.
- Awareness of basic food hygiene principles.
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to use a PC or HMI interface with keyboard proficiency.
- Efficient problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures and completion of IOSH Working Safely certification.

- Additional knowledge of Word and Excel.
