About the Role

GE HealthCare is seeking a Senior Regulatory Affairs Licensing Engineer to lead the execution of complex regulatory work scopes for the existing nuclear reactor fleet. In this role with moderate autonomy, you will provide regulatory guidance and operational judgment on major projects, working closely with engineering teams.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and prepare Licensing Topical Reports, including responses to NRC and customer questions.
  • Develop licensing documentation and reports supporting customer License Amendment Request applications.
  • Perform Technical Specification reviews and updates.
  • Review and prepare Updated Final Safety Analysis Report markups and revisions for plant and fuel changes.
  • Perform verification of task reports and engineering inputs.
  • Support customer 10 CFR 50.59 reviews, preparing Technical Safety Evaluation Reports and evaluating the licensing status of fuel and methodology changes.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory personnel on regulatory issues to secure permissions and approvals.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college (OR Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct nuclear licensing experience, including leading complex projects and providing regulatory guidance to engineering functions.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a site security clearance, including an NRC background check.

Nice to Have

  • NRC Licensing process knowledge and technical expertise in areas like nuclear fuel or operating plants.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills for creating reports for diverse audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Boiling Water Reactor or Pressurized Water Reactor systems, fuel, or operations.
  • Experience and effectiveness in communicating with NRC personnel.
  • Experience working with industry groups like NEI and Owners Groups on licensing matters.
  • Effective interpersonal, facilitation, and process skills for coordinating complex technical documents.
  • Externally focused mindset to represent and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Clear thinker who can make decisions with speed and accuracy, focusing on critical priorities.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $111,000 - $162,000.
