TD Canada Trust is hiring a Complex Residential Field Claims Specialist to manage intricate, high-risk insurance claims that typically require over a year to resolve. In this role, you will apply deep expertise to investigate claims, manage costs, and deliver a legendary customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Use expert knowledge to handle complex, high-risk residential claims that typically take over a year to resolve.
- Meet clients and witnesses in the field to obtain statements and negotiate settlements.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver a legendary customer experience.
- Apply claims management principles to manage claims costs and prevent leakage.
- Identify potential fraudulent claims and handle according to organizational processes.
- Work with claim management vendors to maintain service standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert to increase the knowledge base within the claims team.
- Support timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.
- Identify, suggest, and actively participate in process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Participate fully as a team member, support a positive work environment, and ensure timely communication.
- Provide thought leadership and industry knowledge for your area of expertise.
- Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training.
- Contribute to team development through mentorship and sharing best practices.
- Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Leverage the Claims Resources Team to make decisions on liability and assessment.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant experience in complex claims handling.
Nice to Have
- An undergraduate degree.
