Responsibilities
- Capture digital images, take precise micrometer measurements, inspect components visually, and label parts prior to testing.
- Carry out scheduled vehicle upkeep and modify components such as brakes and suspension systems following maintenance plans and test requirements.
- Monitor and maintain daily conditions at test facilities to meet accelerated corrosion testing standards, including climate chambers, salt spray systems, and mud immersion areas.
- Conduct driving tests on closed-loop durability tracks and public roads according to defined test procedures.
- Mount sensors and configure data logging equipment as needed for vehicle performance monitoring.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve any faults or failures discovered during test cycles.
- Sort and label test samples using internal software tools for both vehicles and component parts.
- Deliver equipped test vehicles to off-site proving grounds, covering approximately 120 miles roundtrip.
- Ensure all testing activities follow documented procedures, test books, and checklists, while collecting essential data for reporting.
- Record video footage of vehicle maneuvers during proving ground tests using assigned camera equipment.
- Communicate test results, task progress, and operational updates to senior technicians or test engineers.
Work Arrangement
On-site
Responsibilities
- Perform initial parts set-up including digital pictures, micrometer measurements, visual inspections and parts labeling.
- Execute vehicle maintenance and component retrofits (brakes, suspension, etc.) in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan and specific testing protocols.
- Maintain and monitor test facility conditions daily to ensure compliance with accelerated corrosion testing standards. This includes climatic chamber, salt water basin, and mud pit facilities.
- Execute driving cycles on closed fatigue tracks and public roads in accordance with established testing protocols.
- Install sensors and data acquisition as required for vehicle tests.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all defects found during testing.
- Organize and create labels of tests’ samples using internal SW tools (vehicle and test parts).
- Transport instrumented test vehicles to the proving ground test facilities (around 120 miles roundtrip).
- Ensure that test activities are performed in accordance with the test procedures and test books/checklists. Collect and record all data necessary for the completion of the test report.
- Record when required the videos of the vehicle test maneuvers run in the proving ground with the provided video camera.
- Report to a Senior Technician or Test Engineer the data generated, progress and status of any tasks deployed
