Responsibilities
- Develop original character concepts from initial sketches to final designs
- Design functional and visually distinctive equipment sets for characters
- Collaborate with art and design leads to ensure alignment with project vision
- Iterate on feedback from team reviews and production needs
- Maintain consistency in visual style across all character assets
- Create design sheets and reference materials for animation and modeling teams
- Contribute to world-building through culturally informed design choices
- Ensure characters support narrative and gameplay requirements
- Work within established art direction while proposing creative enhancements
- Meet production deadlines with high-quality, production-ready artwork
- Participate in concept critiques and creative brainstorming sessions
- Adapt designs for technical constraints in animation and rigging
- Support promotional and marketing visual needs when required
- Keep design documentation organized and up to date
- Stay current with industry trends in character and costume design
Nice to Have
- Experience in sci-fi or fantasy genre projects
- Familiarity with game development workflows
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software used in character creation
- Previous work on multiplayer or character-driven games
- Demonstrated ability to design for diverse character archetypes
- Experience with style adaptation across multiple visual directions
- Understanding of accessibility considerations in visual design
- Track record of delivering assets on schedule
