Lola Blankets is hiring a Cardiac Rehab Onboarding Exercise Physiologist to play a crucial role in our Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program. In this patient-facing position, you will onboard, educate, and engage patients following their initial session, ensuring they can confidently and successfully participate in their recovery journey.
What You'll Do
- Conduct first and early follow-up sessions to orient patients to the program, including completing fitness testing.
- Educate patients on program structure, participation requirements, and expectations for both individual and group sessions.
- Reinforce the importance of regular attendance and program completion.
- Support patients in understanding the next steps in their care journey.
- Assist patients with basic device and platform troubleshooting.
- Guide patients step-by-step on how to join virtual sessions, including audio, video, and platform navigation.
- Ensure patients are technically prepared to independently access future sessions.
- Identify and escalate unresolved technical issues to the appropriate team.
- Support patients in establishing realistic, personalized health and recovery goals.
- Provide motivation and emotional support, addressing common barriers such as anxiety or low confidence.
- Utilize basic behavioral and coaching techniques to promote adherence and sustained participation.
- Enroll patients into appropriate group education sessions.
- Educate patients on the value and expectations of group participation.
- Identify and address barriers to group session attendance.
- Communicate patient progress, challenges, and concerns to the care team as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of sessions, goals, and patient interactions.
- Record relevant data for program tracking and quality improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- ACSM Certification- Clinical Exercise Physiologist/ Exercise Physiologist or AACVPR-CCRP.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a clinical, rehabilitation, or patient support setting.
- Background in health coaching, fitness, or exercise physiology.
- Experience supporting cardiac or chronic care populations.
- Experience with motivational interviewing, patient engagement and customer service.
- Strong communication and patient education skills with an ability to build rapport with patients in a short time.
- Comfort providing basic technical support in a virtual care environment.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular health, behavior change principles, and lifestyle modification.
- Empathy, patience, and ability to support patients with varying physical and emotional needs.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Team & Environment
Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team, including nurses, exercise physiologists, and patient experience specialists, reporting to the Clinical Staff Manager.
Work Mode
This is a global, remote position open to candidates located in the United States.
