Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is hiring a Casual Cardiac Monitor Technician for our Wexford location. In this role, you will perform continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What You'll Do
- Accurately analyze, interpret, and record ECG rhythms according to established procedure.
- Maintain continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at the central monitor and during patient transport, identifying changes and reporting to the RN as appropriate.
- Clean and maintain telemetry monitors/holders and account for the monitor upon patient discharge.
- Demonstrate knowledge of central station and bedside monitors, ensuring alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
- Perform other unit-specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Nice to Have
- EMS, CMA diploma, training, or experience.
